JCA Team Volunteers with Transition Projects in Portland as Part of Company-Wide Initiative
As the first and foremost independent consulting firm dedicated solely to the technical and operational needs of nonprofits, we strengthen organizations from the inside out by leveraging information to promote a positive societal impact. We also strive to strengthen our communities from the inside out by giving back.Â
For a number of years, JCA has offered paid volunteer time to our staff. This year, we challenged our staff to increase our reach. To further strengthen our communities, we set a goal of providing 350 volunteer hours to our communities. To date, we are proud to say that we have over 100 hours already completed or committed. Â
When JCA traveled to Portland, OR at the end of April for our annual company meeting, we coordinated an opportunity for staff to volunteer as a team. Team members Fiona, Jonathan, Kay, and Shannon met with Transition Projects’ Volunteer Program Supervisor to support the community we would spend time in. Transition Projects has delivered life-saving and life-changing assistance to some of Portland’s most vulnerable residents for over 50 years. Whether by helping a homeless veteran and their family find housing, sheltering hundreds of people each night, or opening new pathways to employment, Transition Projects represents an invaluable part of Portland.Â
As the seasons are changing, so are the needs of Transition Projects’ community. Our team helped sort coats to pack away for next winter, and also find jackets and rain gear to prepare for the upcoming spring season. We had a wonderful time and are so grateful to Transition Projects for allowing us to contribute for the afternoon.Â
